Cub Scout News

For several years the Columbia Gorge Model Railroad Club has provided Scout nights for viewing the club enabling Cub Scout to earn their Railroad Segment. This will not be provided in 2011 due to a major electrical overhaul of the main operator panels. This project is in its second year of construction. The removal of the existing panels starts in January 2011 with the panels operational by August of 2011. Scout nights are planned to resume in January of 2012. HOWEVER, check back to see if the project is on schedule. If the switch does not become possible in 2011 due to construction delays, there will be scout nights in 2011.

Memberships are now open for 2010. If you are interested in leaning Digital Command Control (DCC) in a club enviornment now is the time to join. The Oregon Truck Division has already been converted to DC and DCC operation. The equipment has been purchased to convert the remainder of the railroad. Find out more from a member of the Membership Committee.
