General Usage of Multi-Head Signals
  1. The "High Signal" will govern movement on the Main Track.
  2. The "Middle Signal" will govern movement on the secondary, or medium speed route. (Example: A main line crossover from one main to the other.)
  3. The "Low Signal" will govern movement to the low-speed route. (Example: Entering a siding.)

Special Usage of Multi-Head Signals are explained in the following section of the signal rules, on a case by case basis.
  1. Westbound at East Madras, and Eastbound at West Madras:
    1. Middle Signal governs movement into Madras Track 2.
    2. Low Signal governs movement into Madras Track 3.

  2. Eastbound at West Maupin:
    1. Middle Signal governs movement into the Maupin Reverse Loop.
    2. Low Signal governs movement into Maupin Siding

  3. Eastbound at East Maupin
    1. Low Signal governs movement into the Maupin Reverse Loop.

Rule 27 - A signal imperfectly displayed, or the absence of a signal at a place where a signal is usually displayed, must be regarded as the most restrictive indication that can be displayed by that signal.
